Hai Au Aviation, Vietnam's sixth airline, announced a purchase of three seaplanes from the US-based Cessna Aircraft Company for more than US$10 million. The third plane is scheduled to arrive in Hanoi by the end of this year.
The arrival of the third plane will see Hai Au expand services connecting Ho Chi Minh City with tourist destinations in the central and southern regions such as Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Can Tho, Con Dao, and Phu Quoc, the airline said.

Luong Hoai Nam, general director of Hai Au Aviation, said it will cost a passenger VND5 million (US$235) to take a 25-minute flight from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay.
The seaplane service is expected to tap the untouched premium travel sector and boost the country’s tourism industry.
Vietnam attracted 7.6 million international arrivals last year, much lower than 17 million arrivals to Singapore and 27 million arrivals to Thailand.
