The Laguna Lang Co resort in central Vietnam is going to be the first destination resort in the country with its completion in 2012.
The resort, developed and managed by the Banyan Tree Group, will be the first one fully and legitimately integrated in Vietnam upon completion in Thua Thien-Hue Province that includes the world-listed heritage Hue Town.
It is designed with more than 2,000 hotel rooms managed by eight international branded hotel and resort operators, award-winning spas, and an 18-hole championship golf course, besides residences, convention and recreational facilities.
The first investor purchased a deluxe apartment with pool at the property in September this year.
Michael Ayling, managing director of the resort, said many of the project buyers during its initial phases will be Vietnamese nationals but more international buyers are expected at later phases.
"The level of customer interest prior to and throughout the late-September launch was very high indeed," said Ayling.
He said many people already recognize the resort to be an especially beautiful and convenient perch on Vietnam's central coast.
Apartment owners at the resort will be entitled to book complimentary stays at other Banyan Tree properties around the world.
"This is the formula that has proved so successful at our flagship development, Laguna Phuket," Ayling said.
He said Banyan Tree will offer a long-term brand commitment to the resort, just as the brand has never delegated its management at Laguna Phuket to anyone since it was founded in 1987.
