The second tallest building in Vietnam, the Bitexco Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City, has opened a shopping complex on six floors with shops selling luxury fashion goods, cafes, international dining and a seven-screen cineplex.

The Icon68 Shopping Center, occupying nearly 10,000 square meters, aims to present the latest retail trends of the world, and names like Mango, Topshop/Topman, Charles & Keith, Pedro, FCUK - French Connection and Adidas are already available, said Brian Cannon, deputy director of the tower.

The BHD Star Cineplex, which belongs to the private film production company BHD based in Hanoi, is located on the third and fourth floors with four theaters that can seat a thousand viewers and are equipped with 3D projectors.

Thai, Chinese, and South Korean cuisine are among the dining options, while beverages and icecream are served by ELLE Café, Gloria Jeans Coffee and Baskin Robbins.

Bitexco, officially opened in October 2010, is also known as the lotus building because it is shaped like the bud of a lotus flower. It is located in the heart of the city at the junction of three streets Hai Trieu, Ho Tung Mau and Ngo Duc Ke.

It is the second tallest in the country after the 72-story Hanoi Landmark, and was listed by travel and lifestyle website CNNGo in 2011 as one of the world top's 20 iconic skyscrapers.

Many visitors have been attracted to its observation deck on the 49th floor, which offers panoramic views of the city.
