The private budget airline VietJetAir canceled three flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, citing "technical problems."
The airline issued a statement claiming it had to cancel two Saigon-Hanoi flights in the morning and in the evening, VnExpress reported. That same night, one Hanoi-Saigon flight was also canceled.
"The flights were canceled due to the airline's strict standards for customer safety," a source from the carrier said. "The flights were canceled owing to various objective reasons such as the weather and the traffic at the airports at the time."
The company added that the flights were canceled around one hour before their scheduled departure. No further information was provided.
Affected customers were rescheduled to fly on later flights or with other airlines on the same day.
VietJetAir flies eight return flights every day between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as two daily flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, and one daily flight each from Hanoi to Da Nang and Nha Trang
