Vietnam Airlines said its new direct services linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with London will take it one step closer to becoming a major regional carrier.
"The launch of the direct flights will allow Vietnam Airlines to improve its services for Europe, meet the travel demand of passengers, and help boost investment, trade and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and the UK as well as Europe as a whole," Deputy General Director Trinh Hong Quang said.
"The new services will also increase the competitiveness of Vietnam Airlines and realize its plan to become a large carrier in the region," he said.
The national flag carrier launched the new non-stop flights on December 8, making it the first one to fly directly from Vietnam to the UK.
From now until March 31, 2012, Vietnam Airlines offers round-trip tickets to Frankfurt, London and Paris at just US$999. Fare includes tax, fees, fuel surcharge and excluding ticketing fee.
