National carrier Vietnam Airlines announced Monday that it is launching new direct flights from Hanoi to Kuala Lumpur and adding frequencies on other routes to Singapore and Bangkok in the next two months.
The once-daily service to Kuala Lumpur starts on June 16 using Airbus A321 aircraft. Promotional tickets are available now at US$120 each.
Vietnam Airlines already operates 14 flights per week from Ho Chi Minh City to Kuala Lumpur.
The carrier said it is adding four flights per week on the Hanoi-Singapore route on June 16. One month later, it will double the frequency of its Hanoi-Bangkok service to 14 flights a week.
Vietnam Airlines said it is also cooperating with Vietnam Air Services Co. to fly from the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho to Con Dao four times a week.
With the launching of the new services, Vietnam Airlines has expanded its network to 37 domestic routes and 45 international routes.
