The Swedish Embassy in Hanoi has launched a new visa application service in Vietnam supplied by the outsourcing company VFS Global.
Visa applicants can present their passport and application in persons to VFS Global at its offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, starting June 17 and June 24, respectively, and a visa will be issued within 15 days, according to the statement.
At the signing of an agreement with VFS, Camilla Mellander, Ambassador of Sweden said the cooperation was a step in the right direction.
According to the Embassy, applicants can now refer to the VFS Global website for all practical information, including the routines and checklists of what documents one needs for different types of visas.
VFS will also handle telephone and email inquiries and provide appointment booking service for the visa office at the Swedish Embassy.
Resident permits and work permits, still have to be submitted directly to the Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi or through the Honorary Consulate General of Sweden in Ho Chi Minh City -- though online applications are prioritized.
The Swedish Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City does not accept visa applications.
VFS Global is the world’s largest outsourcing and technology services specialist for diplomatic missions and governments worldwide, serving 45 client governments in 111 countries with 1,226 visa application centers.
