Vietnam Airlines has signed a reciprocal agreement with India's Jet Airways which will allow Indian passengers to connect to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi through Singapore and Bangkok.
Vietnam Airlines Deputy Director Duong Tri Thanh said his company would “make all possible efforts to maximize opportunities offered to our combined network to bring the most convenience to our valued customers who travel from India to Vietnam via Bangkok/Singapore and vice versa.”
Passengers from Vietnam, meanwhile, travel to India on Vietnam Airlines flights to Bangkok and Singapore. From here, they can take Jet Airways flights to Chennai (only from Singapore), Mumbai and Delhi.
The code-share flights will begin providing more choices for travelers between the two countries staring on August 4 .
Jet Airways' Ho Chi Minh City service will begin on November 5, Vietnam Airlines will place its marketing code on Jet Airways' Bangkok/Ho Chi Minh route.
"We are delighted to announce a code-share partnership with Vietnam Airlines as it will further strengthen the international reach of both airlines and provide increased benefits to all our guests,” Jet Airways Senior Vice President (Commercial) Gaurang Shetty said in a release.
“We are confident that this partnership will further increase the demand for business and tourist travel between India and Vietnam," he said.
Vietnam Airlines operates 95 routes to 21 domestic and 29 international destinations with more than 300 daily flights.
