Private carrier Mekong Air announced last week it will start flying from Ho Chi Minh City to Quy Nhon City in the central Binh Dinh Province on June 1.
The carrier will fly seven times a week on the HCMC-Quy Nhon route by Bombadier - CRJ 900 aircrafts which have the capacity of 90 seats.
Ticket prices will be announced soon, according to Mekong Air.
On April 28, the airline started flying non-stop from Hanoi to Phu Quoc Island in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang, instead of stopping over in Ho Chi Minh City as it did before.
Mekong Air joined the Vietnamese domestic airline market last October with 14 routes from Hanoi and HCMC to Da Nang, Dalat, Buon Me Thuot, Pleiku, Phu Quoc and Con Dao.
The carrier has sold a rather high rate of 85 percent of seats, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam.
The carrier currently has four Bombadier - CRJ 900 aircrafts and plans to add 10 more planes by the end of this year.
