Authorities in Khanh Hoa Province, home to the famous Nha Trang Bay, predicted there will be abundant supply of luxury hotels in the province in the coming time.
The province will have seven more hotels ranking four to five stars with more than 2,600 rooms to become operational this year, while the number of foreign tourists is forecast to decrease, they said.
In 2015, the number of new hotel rooms ranking four to five stars increased 25-30 percent from the previous year, Nguyen Van Thanh, deputy chairman of Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, told news website Saigon Times Online.
Meanwhile, foreign arrivals in 2015 were reported to be 4.1 million, an annual increase of 14 percent only.
The growth of hotel rooms exceeded that of tourist arrivals, making hotel developers very worried, Thanh said.
He said there should be close cooperation between hotel operators and local authorities in term of information provision to make full use of hotel rooms.
