US-based Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened its second property in Vietnam, this one a resort and spa in Da Nang on the central coast.

Located near UNESCO heritage town Hoi An and 15 minutes away by road from Da Nang International Airport, Hyatt Regency Da Nang Resort and Spa stands on a stretch of white sandy beach with a view of the ocean and Marble Mountain.

Hyatt's other hotel in the country is the award-winning Park Hyatt Saigon hotel.

The new resort has contemporary Vietnamese design, all 200 guestrooms have oversized balconies, and there are 182 residences and 27 private villas all with private pools.

Beach House, the main restaurant, is located on the beach and offers Vietnamese seafood and Western grilled food.

Green House is an all-day dining restaurant with an open kitchen. Guests can dine on the terrace in basket boats, a fishing tool for locals who could not afford a proper boat to sail offshore.

Besides, there is the VIE Spa, conference facilities with one large room that can seat up to 400 people and seven other rooms that can accommodate 40 to 80 people each, a fitness center, swimming pools, tennis courts, badminton courts, and a Camp Hyatt with a wide range of activities for children and younger guests.

Willi Martin, area vice president of Hyatt, said: "Vietnam is fast joining the ranks of the region's most popular tourist destinations. We believe the magnificent resort will further strengthen our brand portfolio in Southeast Asia."

Hyatt Corporation owns and manages 457 properties in 44 countries.
