Passenger
service fees for overseas flights from Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat
International Airport will be raised by around 30 percent to US$18, the Ministry
of Finance has said in a new decision.
The fees at
Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi will remain at $14 a person and that at Da Nang Airport
reduced from $12 to $8 based on local weather and price conditions, according to
the decision signed last weekend, local newswire Vnexpress reported.
Other
airports will charge $8 per passenger.
The service
fee for domestic flights will range between VND30,000-40,000 per person, the
ministry said.
Children
between 2-12 years of age will get a 50 percent discount in all cases.
The
ministry earlier allowed carriers to raise ticket price caps from March 1.
National carrier Vietnam Airlines was the first one to announce new prices
starting next Wednesday, with an average increase of 12-13 percent increase from
the current ones in average.
Other
carriers including the low-cost Jetstar Pacific have also sent their plans for
new prices to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration.
