A spring flower festival will take place at the Phu My Hung area in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7 next week to celebrate the Lunar New Year Tet festival, featuring scenes of harvest seasons in Vietnam.
The festival will open to the public for free at The Crescent, from February 12-24, promising to offer a festive space for visitors.
The organizer, Phu My Hung Development Corp., said an area of seven hectares (17.2 acres) will have four major sections, including Spring Street – golden season in the city, Spring Garden – yellow canola season, Spring Harbor – bustling flower boats, and Spring Gathering – amazing flowers and plants.
A contest will be held at the Spring Gathering section to find the most beautiful flower and plant, besides two other contests for orchid and plumeria, with total prizes of nearly VND400 million (US$18,750).
A spring fair will also be held from February 11 with 500 stalls for flowers and ornamental plants and 200 stalls for other commodities.
There are musical performances every evening.
Yellow, the main color of Harvest Season, is a wish for prosperity to visitors, the organizer said.
