The number of foreign tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City is increasing while the number of theft incidents has fallen, according to the Department of Tourism.
More than 412,000 foreigners visited the city in January, an 8 percent increase compared to last year.
The city expects the number of foreign visitors to reach 4.7 million this year.
Meanwhile, the number of robbery cases targeting foreigners has reduced in January, the Thoi Bao Kinh Te Saigon Online reported.
Police recorded 12 cases of robbery with foreign victims in January, by five cases less than last year. Police have bust six of these cases.
Authorities have bust 227 cases of hassling vendors, while fewer cases of extortive taxi drivers have been recorded in January.
