Over 400,000 foreign and local tourists joined the first-ever international food and drink festival that wrapped up in the southern resort town of Vung Tau Sunday, organizers said.

Featuring traditional food and drinks from 31 countries and territories, "Taste the World" also consumed nearly 100 tons of food and raw materials, said Ho Van Nien, vice chairman of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.

The five-day event also included musical performances as well as talks by famous people like leading musicologist Professor Tran Van Khe and the Chinese-born American chef Martin Yan.

While organizers declared the event held on the three-kilometer long Thuy Van Street a success, there were reports of public dissatisfaction with poor organization, including expensive, insufficient food.
