The beach city of Nha Trang have deployed teams of uniformed youths to help foreign tourists cross its crowded streets to avoid accidents.
The teams, members of local Volunteer Youth Force unit, work at five main traffic points in the most crowded streets and conjunctions.
The service is deployed after travel agencies in Nha Trang complained about the speeding habit of local riders who did not usually give way to pedestrians, posing high risks to foreign tourists who want to cross the streets.
Nguyen Huu Thanh Viet, a team member working at the Nguyen Thi Minh Khai-Tran Phu conjunction, said his team hardly found any chance to sit down as they were too busy leading groups after groups of tourists to cross the road.
