The inaugural French food festival Goût de France has selected some restaurants in Vietnam to join the one-day event in March.
More than 1,300 chefs from across the world are expected to participate in the event at their own restaurants and together serve thousands of dinners on March 19.
From Vietnam, 16 chefs including seven locals from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hue and Hoi An will join the event, according to a press release from the program.
Goût de France, or Good France, is built upon the idea of Les Dînersd’Épicure (Epicurean Diners) in 1912, in which one menu is served on one day in cities around the world to as many guests as possible.
Laurent Fabius, Foreign Minister of France, came up with Goût de France after the UNESCO recently named French cuisine an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
