A five-star property in Da Nang has been named by Singapore travel magazine DestinAsian as one of the best new resorts in the Asia-Pacific region.

Fusion Maia, located on Da Nang beach close to Marble Mountain and the Museum of Cham Sculpture, entered the 8th annual Luxe List of best new hotels and resorts opening in the region in 2011.

The resort, as well as the others in the list, was visited by one of the magazine's contributors and subsequently vetted by its editorial staff, who chose the final list based on criteria such as design, service, location, and ambience.

Fusion Maia, designed as an all-inclusive spa resort, was also listed by Conde Nast Traveler among the world's best new hotels and made an impression on Time magazine.

"The announcement to be featured on DestinAsian Luxe List is another confirmation that guests are enjoying our surprising concept of all-inclusive spa," said the resort general manager Michelle Ford.

This year's Luxe List includes no entries from Australia or New Zealand.

Other hotels and resorts in Vietnam listed include Hotel del' Opera in Hanoi, An Lam Ninh Van Bay Villas in Nha Trang, and Six Senses Con Dao.
