A golf club in central Vietnam has been voted home of the country's "Best New Course."
The honor was officially granted to the Dunes Course of Da Nang Golf Club Wednesday last week at a Hanoi hotel, following votes by readers of Vietnam Golf magazine. The club also won the "Best Clubhouse" honor.
Craig Douglas, acting general manager of the golf club and general manager of Da Nang Beach Resort, said at the ceremony that the honors are "a tribute to anyone who's been associated with the golf course and its supporting elements from day one."
Launched in May 2010, the Dunes Course is a collection of 18 rugged, seaside holes that were designed by golf legend Greg Norman and crisscross a sand-based landscape similar to the coastal terrain of Scotland, golf's birthplace.
