Southern Vietnam likely to face 2nd typhoon of the year
Typhoon Domeng, the second this year is gathering steam out over the East Sea moving towards Vietnam, reported Philippines weather forecast website Pagasa at 3pm local time today.

Vietnam’s weather forecast center, KTVN highlighted the tropical storm as the tropical low pressure, reporting the eye of the low pressure was located at 14.1˚N – 118.2˚E, 730km southeast away from Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago.

It is estimated within 24 hours, Domeng will progress northeast towards Vietnam’s southern region at speed from 15km – 20km an hour.

Coastal areas from Ba Ria Vung Tau to Ca Mau will see high winds up to 39kmh and rough seas.

Southern and central regions will see medium to heavy rains.

Last month, Typhoon Chanchu, the first storm of the year roared out over the East Sea, killing 276 Vietnamese fishermen caught on the high seas and sinking 18 fishing vessels.
