Dalat plans flower festivities in December
The Central Highlands city of Dalat will hold flower festivities in December as a preparatory step to the first Dalat Flower Festival scheduled for the end of 2005, said Lam Dong province leaders.

The “Flower City” program will last from December 18 to 26 and take place at different places in Lam Dong province’s capital, according to a news conference organized by the provincial People’s Committee at Majestic Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City on August 20.

Dalat Flower Park will be the venue for a seminar and exhibition of flowers, bonsais and rock gardens. Yersin Park will house a photography exhibition and photography auctions.

Meanwhile, the Dalat Winter Fair will be held at Lam Vien training ground and will provide a chance for tourism companies in HCMC, Lam Dong and neighboring provinces to carry out promotion activities.

Artist troupes from Hanoi, HCMC and Danang cities and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Can Tho and Lam Dong provinces will perform in a show titled Meeting at Dalat.

The evening of December 25 will focus on Dalat’s flowers with flower street processions and a flower gathering at Dalat Square.
