The Vietnamese cities of Hanoi and Da Nang remained on a list of Asia’s Top Ten Holiday Destinations this year despite a slight drop in the ranking of the 2014 Best in Travel Poll.
Both cities shared 8th place with Singapore during the 10th annual survey conducted by Smart Travel Asia magazine.
Last year, Hanoi ranked fifth and Da Nang ranked seventh in the poll based on readers’ vote on substantial hands-on travel experience with 12 annual air trips, ran from May-July.
This year, Bali topped the list, followed by Hong Kong and Maldives. Bangkok, which ranked first last year, dropped to fifth place.
Up to 96 percent of the voters said they drew their primary image of travel brands from the Internet.
Approximately 70 percent were based in Asia, 15 percent in UK/Europe and 15 percent in USA and North America.
