Vietnam's FPT launches IT center, targets $1 billion software exports

Technology conglomerate FPT, a well-known outsourcing services provider, is looking to raise its software exports fivefold to US$1 billion in the next five years with a newly-opened base in Da Nang, local media have reported.
Described as the biggest IT center the central region, the 5.9-hectare complex was opened on Friday to host 3,200 employees, according to Vietnam News Agency.
It will be expanded to host 10,000 employees in 2020, or one-third of FPT's targeted software workforce, it said.
FPT's revenue from overseas grew 41 percent to $221 million last year, according to the corporation's figures. More than 90 percent of the revenue came from software exports.
