Alert for Vietnamese stargazers: the Geminid meteor shower will reach its peak on the early morning of December 15.
The Geminids can be annually observed between December 4 and 17, with its peak activity being around December 14. The shower owes its name to the constellation Gemini from where the meteors seem to emerge from in the sky.
This year, the Geminids are forecast to reach its peak at 1 a.m. on December 15 (Vietnam time).
Stargazers in Vietnam can observe the Geminids from 10 p.m. on December 14 to the early morning of December 15, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Amateur Gastronomers Club.
The Geminids are considered to be one of the more spectacular meteor shower during a year, with the possibility of sighting around 120 meteors per hour at its peak.
