Vietnamese 16-year-old tennis player Ho Huynh Dan Mach has been suspended by his club, Binh Duong, for six months for his lack of discipline.

Coach Tran Duc Quynh said, "In the past, Dan Mach was given opportunities to compete at several international contests to help improve his skills. He has gained a little success, but recently he was not serious enough in his training and he didn't comply with the training plans. Worse still, he didn't do his best at international competitions, causing Vietnam to lose face on the international stage. That was why we decided to penalize him."

Dan Mach, who has returned to his hometown in Hue, said, "I've called the coaching staff to apologize for what I've done wrong. I explained to them that I decided to retire at the contest in Malaysia because I was tired from previous days of playing hard at other international competitions, and I wanted to return to prepare for the South East Asian Games in Indonesia [in November]."

After investing a lot of money in youth training, Binh Duong has introduced two very good players: Dan Mach and 14-year-old Ly Hoang Nam.

Together with 16-year-old Nguyen Hoang Thien, Vietnam's best young player, Vietnam is hopeful for the young generation in the country.

Dan Mach's poor attitude toward his career is likely to affect his growth.
