Yamaha Motor Vietnam has granted an award of VND40 million ($1,904) to wushu champion of the 2014 Asian Games Duong Thuy Vi.
At the 17th Asian Games recently held in Incheon, South Korea, Vi won the gold for Vietnam. This is the sole gold that the country gained during the games.
At the granting ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday, Ono Masaru, general director of Yamaha Motor Vietnam, highly appreciated Vi’s achievement, and urged her to make greater efforts to continue bringing glory to the country.
At the 2014 Asian Games, Vietnam ranked 21 out of 45 participating countries and territories with one gold, ten silver and 25 bronze medals. At the 2010 Asian Games, the country finished 24 with one gold, 17 silvers and 15 bronzes.
