V-League club Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) has been boosted by a new sponsorship from Thai paint company TOA.
Details of the sponsorship agreement signed in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday were not revealed.
Manager of the the Central Highlands club, Nguyen Tan Anh, said the contract with TOA PAINT will ensure HAGL players will have bigger bonuses and be motivated to play even better.
The league 2003-04 champions' coach Kiatisuk Senamuang said at the sponsorship signing ceremony that HAGL will try to win all the three home matches and strive for a minimum result of draws in their away matches for the seven games remaining in the first half of the season.
When the transfer window opens during a break before the second half of the season, the club will add more players, Kiatisuk said.
HAGL captain Viet Cuong said, "The players are well aware of the current difficulties. We will all try our best."
Many people may be surprised to hear HAGL, known as one of the wealthiest in the V-League, needs additional sponsorship, but team officials said it will further strengthen the team.
