V-League club takes on super striker from Kenya

Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) has brought on board Kenyan international Allan Wanga, the V-League club officially announced on Thursday.

Twenty-six year-old Wanga, 1.86 meters tall, played for Angola's Petro Atlectico and Azerbaijan's FC Kabul before moving to HAGL, who were the champions of Vietnam's top-tier V-League for two consecutive years in 2003 and 2004.

HAGL coach Dusit Chalermsan said the club has also got another new player from Nigeria, Ejike, and the club managers are hoping the new recruits will work with current top players in the team to win the championship or finish in the top three.

In related news, V-League club Binh Duong said it has sent documents to relevant government agencies to ask for Vietnamese citizenship for Vietnamese American Lee Nguyen and South African player Kubheka Philani.
