Phan Thi Ha Thanh won a gold medal in balance beam at the 2015 Varna World Challenge Cup in Bulgaria on Saturday.
The 24-year-old athlete from Hai Phong had an outstanding performance and surpassed strong competitors, including Asian champion Kim Un Hyang of North Korea and Olympic champion Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan.
Thanh finished with 14,200 points, followed by Hyang with 13,867 points and Ilaria Kaeslin of Switzerland with 13,733 points. Chusovitina finished fourth with 13,633 points.
This is Thanh’s second world gold medal in less than two months.
On March 27, she netted a gold medal, also in balance beam, at the 2015 Doha World Challenge Cup.
