A new racing circuit will be launched in Long An Province this month, expected to become Vietnam’s first professional track for cars and motorcycles.
Located 30 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, the HappyLand project developed by Khang Thong Group will include 1.4 km for motorcycle, 1.1 km for off-road vehicles, 400m drag race track and 7.5 km for automobile rally racing.
The complex also includes practicing areas for Gymkhana and children.
HappyLand will be capable of hosting 12 racing categories for cars, motorcycles and bicycles and offering training venues and courses for racers.
From March 20-24, the circuit will host training sessions provided by the well-known Malaysian Grand Prix motorcycle racer Azlan Shah Kararuzaman of Idemitsu Honda Team Asia.
From April 29-30, it will host the 2016 Long An Open Motorcycle and Auto Rally.
The circuit, built on an area of 139,000 square meters by the Vam Co Dong River, can be reached from HCMC by the National Highway 1A or the Ho Chi Minh City-Trung Luong Expressway.
Currently, motorcycle races are only held at rectangle courses, mostly at football fields.
