Vietnam finished third at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women's Championship after beating hosts Laos 6-0, while Thailand won the championship with a 2-1 victory over Myanmar on Tuesday.

After a 1-2 defeat to Myanmar in the semifinals, the Vietnamese women put on a much better display against Laos, who'd lost 0-4 to Thailand in the semis.

They launched repeated attacks and scored three goals in each half for a decisive win.

The Vietnamese women aimed to win the championship this year, but had to settle for third place behind champions Thailand and runners-up Myanmar.
