Vietnamese women beat Ukrainian team to take volleyball title

The Vietnamese women's national volleyball team successfully defended the International VTV Cup after beating Ukraine's Vingroup 3-2 in the finals on Saturday.

A substitution of the setter position by South Korean coach Rong Han Yan, who replaced Dao Thi Huyen with Pham Thu Ha, proved to be a timely move.

Ha's accuracy helped forwards Ngoc Hoa and Kim Hue show off their best form, and Vietnam lwon the first two games 25-23, 25-15.

The women from Ukraine made great efforts to won the third set 25-20. Coach Rong Han Yan replaced Thu Ha with Huyen in the fourth set, but mistakes at decisive moments helped the visitors to take it 25-21.

In the decider, Thu Ha was used again and her superb display together with the team's effective defense earned Vietnam the final set 25-10.

In the fight for the third place, VTV Binh Dien Long An lost 1-3 to Thailand.
