Vietnamese swimmers can only expect to be in the Class B finals of the Singapore Youth Olympics Games to take place from August 14-26, experts say.

Vietnam is sending three of its top young swimmers to the first edition of the Youth Olympics, with 15-year-old Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen the most prominent among them.

Tuyen won two gold medals by breaking two records in the 100m butterfly and 200m mixed events at the 34th Southeast Asian Age Group Swimming Championships in the Philippines early June.

However, the Youth Olympic Games at Singapore will attract top swimmers from around the world and it will be very hard for the Vietnamese athletes to match them, the experts said.
