Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said Tuesday its Vice Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan has been appointed as head of the management team of the 2015 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup finals to be held in Canberra this month.
The finals will take place from January 9 to 31 at five cities in Australia with the participation of 16 teams. Seven matches of the finals will be held in the capital city of Canberra alone, according to AFC.
AFC also assigned VFF General Secretary Le Hoai Anh as a member of the tourney’s supervisory board, the Federation said Tuesday.
Tuan currently serves as Vice Chairman of the AFC Competitions Committee and a member of the Futsal Committee of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA).
In 2014, he was assigned as head of the management team of men’s and women’s football at the Asian Games in the Republic of Korea. He was also the first Asian appointee to the management board of the FIFA Futsal World Cup finals in Thailand in 2012.
