The duo Tran Thi Thu Ha and Vu Ba Dong won the gold medal in the mixed doubles aerobic contest at the 2013 World Games in Cali, Colombia on Saturday.
In the qualifying round, Dong and Ha came in fourth place behind the pairs from Romania, Spain and France.
Yet the judges gave the same 20.450 points and gold medals to all the four pairs in the final, and there was no silver or bronze medal.
This is the second medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 2013 World Games. On July 27, Nguyen Hoang Ngan took the silver medal in the women's karatedo event after losing in the final to French rival Sandy Scordo.
With one gold and one silver medal, the Vietnamese sports delegation is in the same 25th position as Hungary, New Zealand, Austria and Romania. Vietnam is the only Southeast Asian country that has won a gold medal at the event this year.
