Vietnam tops Southeast Asian Judo Contest

Hosts Vietnam finished on top at the Southeast Asian Judo 2010 competition that ended at Ho Chi Minh City's Phan Dinh Phung Sports Center on Thursday.

The Vietnamese martial artists took a total 13 gold and two silver medals, followed by Laos with two gold, five silver and five bronze medals and Thailand with four silver and four bronze medals.

The event attracted martial artists from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, competing in 13 categories.

After the competition, 10 Vietnamese national judo artists will go to China on a training trip to prepare for the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China from November 12-27.
