Vietnam's leading international grandmasters are expected to fight to the finish at 2010 Chess Olympiad in Khanty Mansiysk, Russia this fall.
Vietnam's big names include international grandmasters Le Quang Liem, Dao Thien Hai, Nguyen Anh Dung and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son.
The 39th edition of the Olympiad takes place from September 19 till October 4 this year.
At the 38th annual contest in Dresden, Germany, last year the Vietnamese team finished ninth out of 154 teams, placing better than big rivals like India, Georgia, Bulgaria and Britain.
So far, Vietnam and China are the only two Asian countries that have registered for the top-level chess competition.
This is also a good opportunity for the Vietnamese players to prepare for the 16th Asian Games that will take place in Guangzhou, China this November.
