Vietnam to host its first professional cycling event

Vietnam will host an International Cycling Union (UCI) event in December called ADC Tour of Vietnam.

Doan Kim Phach, General Secretary of the Vietnam Bicycle and Motorbike Association (VBMA), said, "This is the first time Vietnam will host a professional cycling event. As part of the UCI events, this tour will attract strong professional teams from around the world to Vietnam."

It will be good opportunity for Vietnamese cyclists to earn some experience against top competitors.  Only the strongest Vietnamese teams like Eximbank HCMC, ADC Vinh Long Television, Domesco Dong Thap and An Giang Plant-Protection will participate.

The 400km tour is planned to consist of five stages starting in Ho Chi Minh City and looping through the Mekong Delta provinces before finishing in HCMC.
