Vietnam to compete at 2010 Asian Beach Games

Vietnamese athletes will participate in the 2010 Asian Beach Games to take place in Muscat, Oman from December 8-16.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said 63 Vietnamese competitors would contest seven of 14 events beach volleyball, beach handball, beach sepak takraw, beach woodball, beach soccer, marathon swimming and bodybuilding in the second edition of the competition.

Vietnam won two golds, five silvers and three bronzes at the first games held in Bali, Indonesia in 2008 and ranked 8 out of 42 countries and territories.

The Vietnamese contingent is expected to match the performance this year.

Vietnam will host the 5th edition of the event at Nha Trang Town, Khanh Hoa Province in 2016.
