Hosts Vietnam hammered the Philippines 4-0 in their second match at the South East Asian Futsal Championship 2010 at Ho Chi Minh City's Phu Tho Sports Center on Tuesday.
It was the second consecutive win for the hosts after an 8-1 victory over Myanmar in the opener of the indoor football event on Monday.
The hosts' Italian coach Sergio Gargelli used his best players including Quoc Tuan, Quoc Bao, Dinh Hoang and Captain Bao Quan.
Vietnam proved stronger from the kickoff and had an opener by Quoc Tuan midway through the first half before Quoc Bao doubled the score before the interval.
With two goals under their belts, the VIetnamese were more relaxed in the second half though some reserves were used as substitutions.
Ba Tuan and Captain Bao Quan scored two more goals within the first three minutes of the second half.
The Vietnamese players played more slowly in the final minutes, looking to save some energy for their next contests.
In another match, Indonesia, another title contender beside Vietnam and Malaysia, walloped Myanmar 7-4.
The competition started on Monday (April 5) with Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines and hosts Vietnam all competing in a round-robin tournament.
Two teams will fight for the championship in the finals on April 11.
