Vietnam will play a friendly match against Indonesia at Hanoi's My Dinh Stadium on Tuesday after a scoreless draw in an away game a month ago.
Coach Phan Thanh Hung said, "In the previous game, we drew with Indonesia on equal terms. In the coming match, I hope our players can improve their shooting and take a home win, heightening the spirits for the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Cup late this month [October 24-28],"
After almost two weeks of physical training in the south central coastal town of Nha Trang, the Vietnamese footballers will fly to Hanoi on Friday for the friendly, and then to Ho Chi Minh City for the VFF Cup.
At the VFF Cup, Vietnam will compete against Turkmenistan, Laos and Under-23 players from South Korea for the championship.
VFF General Secretary Ngo Le Bang said the federation will fund the event by itself because it can't find sponsors amidst the current economic recession.
