Vietnam will host an international Under-19 football tournament at Ho Chi Minh City's Thanh Long Sports Center from July 24-30, organizers announced Wednesday.
Vietnam and Thailand, who are the only two Southeast Asian teams that have berths at the Asian U19 Championship in China's Shangdong province in October, will clash with guests from Australia and South Korea.
The four teams will play each other on a round-robin basis and the top two ill fight for the championship while the other two will compete for the third place.
The tournament is a good opportunity for Vietnam and Thailand to train and prepare for the Asian U19 Championship from October 3-17, organizers said.
Vietnam's U19 team coach Trieu Quang Ha said that twenty-six players will gather on June 22 to prepare for the contest.
