Vietnam heads to Davis Cup

Vietnam's tennis team left on Wednesday for the 2011 Davis Cup contest in Sri Lanka. The regional contest will be held from June 15-20.

Do Minh Quang, Hoang Thanh Trung, Le Quoc Khanh, Ngo Quang Huy and Pham Minh Tuan will compete at the event.

Team manager Doan Quoc Cuong said, "The goal of the Vietnamese national tennis team is to maintain its place in the third position; we will try to get promoted if possible."

Vietnam (ranked 85th in the world) will compete in Group III against seven other teams - Kuwait (70th), Malaysia (72nd), Oman (75th), Lebanon (82nd), Sri Lanka (83rd), UAE (96th) and Myanmar (102nd).
