Vietnam took a 2-0 win over China in the opener at the international indoor football titled Hanoi Futsal Cup 2011 in Hanoi on Friday.

Though considered underdogs against the visitors from China, the host Vietnamese players played exceptionally and scored two goals in the first half.

Bui Van Thang took a chance on the right wing and fired a shot between the Chinese goalkeeper's legs to score the opener after 13 minutes, before Luong Quy Toan doubled the score 10 minutes later.

The Chinese players tried hard and fired several shots at Vietnam's goal but the Vietnamese defense stood firm the rest of the game.

In the other match of the day, Uzbekistan hammered Qatar 6-1.

Vietnam will play Qatar on Saturday before clashing with Uzbekistan a day later. The match against Uzbekistan looks like the most important for the Vietnamese players at this event.
