Vietnam women’s football team beat the Philippines 4-0 to secure an early ticket to the semifinals of the 2016 AFF Women’s Championship in Myanmar on Thursday, two days after it crushed Singapore 14-0 in another group match.
Nguyen Thi Hoa scored the first goal for Vietnam in the seventh minute after Vietnam played dominantly at the Mandalarthiri Stadium.
Nguyet Thi Tuyet Dung had a double in the 30th and 71st minute before Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet scored the fourth and last goal in the 80th minute.
On July 30, Vietnam will play Thailand in the last Group A match. Both teams have already secured early tickets to the semis with six points each, leaving Singapore and the Philippines with zero point.
In Group B, host Myanmar and Australia both have three points each after the first round. Myanmar will play against Malaysia and Australia play Timor-Leste on July 29.
Vietnam's defender Nguyen Thi Muon is now the top scorer with six goals, all in the match against Singapore.
The semifinals are scheduled on August 2 and the final match two days later.
