Organizers of the 15th edition of the Thanh Nien-sponsored Under-21 National Football Championship will promote clean football, focusing not only on sporting talent, but also on personal skills.

Addressing a press conference in Binh Duong Province's Thu Dau Mot Town on September 7, Nguyen Cong Khe, chief of the tournament's organizing committee, said, "We will try to organize the 15th edition of the Thanh Nien-sponsored U21 Football Championship 2011 in the best way.

"We aim to have clean football. Top-tier football has been criticized by the public, so we will strive to make the U21 tournament an environment where players are trained in terms of personality and skills.

"With such training, the talented young players from this competition will be able to mature, contributing to improving the quality and cleanliness of Vietnamese football."

Khe, president of the Thanh Nien Media Corp., thanked the Vietnam Football Federation, the People's Committee of Binh Duong Province, Becamex and other sponsors for their support for the September 8-18 event.

On behalf of the local organizers, Nguyen Phu Yen, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong Province, said, "Binh Duong Province is pleased to host the Thanh Nien-sponsored U21 Football Championship 2011 on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the province,

"So the local organizers will try to make it an impressive show that matches the good reputation of the 15-year-old Under-21 football tournament sponsored by Thanh Nien newspaper."

Bui Van Duc, vice president of the members committee, and deputy general Director of Becamex (Industrial Investment & Development Company), the main sponsor of the event, said, "Our company sponsors the U21 Football Championship 2011 because this competition is clean and popular with football fans."

Football expert Nguyen Van Vinh said, "The Thanh Nien-sponsored U21 Football Championship is prestigious because it is clean. I believe this tournament will be successful because it makes Vietnamese football itself a cleaner sport."
