Ho Chi Minh City's Phap Luat (Law) newspaper has recommended that the Thanh Nien-sponsored U21 football tournament should be among events considered for a fair play award.

Phap Luat is the agency that initiated the fair play award, and in a letter to Thanh Nien newspaper, Phap Luat's editor-in-chief Pham Phu Tam said, "Educating the fair play spirit should not be limited to competitions like V-League, First Division, the National Cup and Super Cup contests, but the young players should also be encouraged, rewarded and honored for fair play on the pitch."

He said the editors of Phap Luat and the organizers of the 2012 fair play award would like Thanh Nien's editors and  organizers of the U21 football contest to accept the recommendation of including "Vietnam's most prestigious youth football event [the U21 football tournament]" in a list to be considered for a fair play award.

It said fair play behavior will be recognized every month and selected for the award at the end of the year.

Thanh Nien editors and the organizers of the U21 football contest have accepted the recommendation.
