The Under-19 football team have travelled to Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the U19 Southeast Asian Open contest at Thong Nhat Stadium next week.
Head coach Mai Duc Chung on Sunday said it is actually an invitational event because no other Southeast Asian team will participate. The Vietnamese U19s will compete with contestants from Iran, Australia and Uzbekistan.
Vietnam will clash with Iran in the opener on Sunday September 2 before playing Australia and Uzbekistan on Tuesday and Thursday.
The best two teams will fight for the championship and the third- and fourth teams will fight for the third place on Saturday.
