Vietnam's badminton number one, Nguyen Tien Minh, lost to world number one Malaysian Lee Chong Wei in straight sets at the Proton Malaysia Super Series on Friday.
The 7th-ranked Vietnamese started well, taking the lead in the first part of the first set until 11-8 when Lee Chong Wei stepped up his game and prevailed 21-15.
Minh played better in the second set but lost it 16-21, crashing out of the 18-23 Jan event.
Minh has so far met Lee seven times and suffered six defeats. The only win over the Malaysian came at the Singapore Open in 2009.
