Vietnam's Nguyen Tien Minh entered the finals of the 2012 Yonex Chinese Taipei Open after beating Malaysian Wei Feng Chong in straight sets on Saturday.
Minh, ranked 13th in the world, proved too strong for the 30th-ranked Malaysian in the first set and won the set 21-8. The second set was a closer affair, but the Vietnamese player took it 21-19.
In the final match, Minh will play the host's Tien Chen Chou, ranked 43rd in the Badminton World Federation rankings.
The Taiwanese has proven to be in good form at the event by beating other strong players to advance to the finals. While the finalists have never met before, Minh is expected to prevail.
The Grand Prix Gold will end on Sunday.
